UKHospitality has responded to the Home Office’s publication of updated Section 182 guidance which has included industry feedback.

UKH has also reiterated its call for the Government to adopt the key House of Lords Licensing Act Committee recommendation regarding late-night levies and EMROs .

UKHospitality Chief Executive Kate Nicholls said: “The revised guidance published today by the Home Office shows that the Government has listened to industry feedback and the considerations of the hospitality sector. The new guidance should help provide clarity for businesses and local authorities.

“This has been a welcome opportunity to communicate with the Home Office, although we will continue to make the case for a more supportive legislative framework for venues and the adoption of recommendations made by the House of Lords. Chief among them will be the scrapping of late-night levies and EMROs, which are unfit for purpose, at the earliest opportunity.”
